<p>I just completed one of my <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/2987/21-days-challenge-002-are-you-in/">15 minutes interval workout</a> and this idea suddenly popped in my head and I have to share it with you. I believe this is the one big tip that you need to know and totally understand it. It is the idea of conditioning.</p>
<p>First of all, what is conditioning?<span id="more-3062"></span></p>
<p><strong>Conditioning </strong>- Doing something consistently to cultivate desired behavior.</p>
<p>This is not the sexiest thing in your personal development journey, however this is the one big tip that will make all the difference in your life. Most people are always looking for the miracle or the silver bullet to help them change overnight, however things rarely change overnight, especially our mindset, habits and behaviors.</p>
<p>Engaging in personal development is the desire to change ourselves for the better and it means conditioning and fine-tuning our mindset, habits and behaviors to help us achieve the outcomes that we desired.</p>
<p>Conditioning is something that most people miss out because it isn&#8217;t something that catches our attention (and it is not sexy at all).</p>
<h3>Look At An Example</h3>
<p>What do you expect after one session of exercise? Do you expect to have life changing experience, feel healthy or look sexy?</p>
<p>One session of exercise cannot help you to change your body overnight. The only way your body can start to change is when you decide to exercise and condition it every single day.</p>
<p>You can look at all the examples around you. To learn how to play a new musical instrument, you have to condition yourself everyday to improve. To pick up a new language, you condition yourself by writing and speaking it every day.</p>
<h3>Using Conditioning To Help You Achieve Your Goals</h3>
<p>If there is any particular areas in your life that you want to improve, you have to condition yourself to improve on that area. This means that you have to <strong>take action every single day to improve yourself</strong>. The most common mistake is people don&#8217;t have the patience to condition themselves and they give up too soon. A few quick tries and failure will drive them back to their <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/1869/warning-dont-let-your-human-instinct-stop-you-from-achieving-success/">comfort zone</a>.</p>
<p>To grow yourself, you have to decide what you want to improve on and take action everyday without fail to condition yourself to success. You don&#8217;t need any silver bullet or miracle for success, what you need is to be willing to put in the time and effort to condition yourself for success everyday without fail.</p>
<h3>Your Task Today</h3>
<p>Think about something you want to improve on and write them down in your <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/1346/the-secret-of-journaling/">journal</a> or a piece of paper. It can be working on your health, body, financial aspect of your life or anything that you want to improve on.</p>
<p>Brainstorm about the things that you can start doing now to condition yourself to achieve your desired outcome. If you are working on your health, you have to condition yourselves to stay away from junk food so maybe your first goal should look something like avoid eating chocolates or fast food for <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/2987/21-days-challenge-002-are-you-in/">21 days</a>.</p>
<p>Or if you are looking to get rid of the debts that you have, maybe you would want to list out all the debts you have and condition new habits to <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/319/successful-millionaire/">stop acquiring new debts</a> and pay off your old debts bit by bit every month.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t stay on the sideline and do just pure reading. Reading won&#8217;t get you anywhere near your goals, conditioning and taking action will. Go grab your journal now and I will talk to you again soon.</p>

<p>Do you read frequently?</p>
<p>Most people do not read much once they had graduated from school. If you are reading frequently, you are the minority that is in a much better position to excel in your life.</p>
<p>However, there is one big mistake that most people made when they read.</p>
<p>It is the lack of implementation.<span id="more-2172"></span></p>
<h3>Implementation Is What Truly Matters</h3>
<p>Are you one of those people who seem to know everything but aren&#8217;t getting the results that you want?</p>
<p>A minority in the population read regularly to improve themselves. Out of these people, only a few of them implement what they read. You can read all day long but nothing will happen if all you are doing is reading.</p>
<p><strong>Knowledge itself is not powerful.</strong></p>
<p>Knowledge is just a piece of information in your brain. It isn&#8217;t anything unless you pick it out from your brain and starting implementing (taking action) on it.</p>
<p>Knowledge + Implementation = Results</p>
<h3>You Know It But You Don&#8217;t Get It</h3>
<p>There are thousands (or millions) of people reading personal development books or blogs. Yet, most of them are junkies. I have to admit that I don&#8217;t really apply everything that I picked up. It is not possible to do so. However, it will make a huge difference in our life if we are able to implement half of what we learned.</p>
<p>The ones that always produce successful stories to inspire others are people who consistently implement what they had learned.</p>
<p>They are the minority.</p>
<p>The majority simply fail to implement what they had learned. Most people know they have to take some sort of action in order to get the results that they want, but more often than not they don&#8217;t.</p>
<p>As what Seth Godin mentioned in his book, Lynchpin, there is a lizard brain in some part of our brain. This is the part where our primal instinct can be found.</p>
<p>This lizard brain protects us from dangers and it helps us to sense danger, avoid fear and change. It works perfectly well to help our ancestors to survive and keeping them away from the predators. However, letting the lizard brain control your life is going to ensure that you will dwell in mediocrity.</p>
<h3>3 Steps To Start Implementing  And Getting Results</h3>
<p><strong>1) Read And Listen</strong></p>
<p>You need to read the books, blogs and listen to others for ideas that you can use in your life. This is the first step that you need to take. Your local library is a great place to start searching for books that you need. Anything that you are interested in improving can be found in the library. Many people had walked the path before you and their knowledge can be very beneficial to you.</p>
<p>Talk more to others who are expert or better than you in the subject that you wish to improve on. You will be surprised by how much more new knowledge you can pick up from them. We can usually pick up new and valuable information from these interviews.</p>
<p><strong>2) Jot Notes</strong></p>
<p>If you rely on your memory to help you keep track of new ideas, you will be disappointed. I don&#8217;t trust my memory because I can&#8217;t seem to find the great ideas that I had &#8220;collected&#8221; in my brain whenever I need them.</p>
<p>If you want to increase the chances of you implementing ideas from books or blogs that you read, the first thing you need to do is to jot them down. Keep a note book and write down all the personal excellence tips that you want to implement in your life. If you want to read a book about personal excellence, check out the <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/books/excellencebook " target="_blank">Personal Excellence Handbook</a> written by Celestine Chua. There are full of great ideas and tips that you can use to improve your life.</p>
<p>I always keep a note book around me so that I can jot down any ideas that pop out in my mind. Electronics gadgets such as smartphones (iPhone or any phone that is able to allow you to take notes) work well too. Try out which works best for you.</p>
<p>Note: Summarize your notes. Keep things simple and jot down the key ideas that you want to implement in your life.</p>
<p><strong>3) Use A Checklist</strong></p>
<p>A checklist will help you monitor whether you have implemented the ideas that you picked up. Organize your jotted notes write them into a checklist format. This will help to keep your ideas well organized.</p>
<p>Look through the list and start completing them one at a time. Subsequently, strike off the ideas that you had implemented.</p>
<h3>Conclusion</h3>
<p>If you read regularly, the amount of new ideas you will pick up will grow over time. These ideas will just remain as ideas unless action is taken to produce a result.</p>
<p>You can finish a book titled How To Make More Friends you are not going to make more friends if you don&#8217;t even bother to initiate (implement the ideas in the book) to talk to others.</p>
<p>Decide now that you will not be a personal development junkie anymore. Be one that will collect great ideas through your learning from seminars, audio books, blogs and books. Be one that act upon all these ideas that you collected and you will experience exponential growth and get fast results in your life.</p>

<p>When you are facing a list of tasks that you need to complete in order to help you move closer to your goals, are you being choosy on your tasks or you are doing what is essential for you to move faster towards your goals?</p>
<p>Most people make the mistake of being choosy on their tasks instead of focusing on what needs to be done. When you are being choosy about your tasks and only pick easy tasks to complete instead of doing essential tasks (which may seem harder to complete), you slow down your growth.<span id="more-2061"></span></p>
<h3>Different Questions, Different Results</h3>
<p>When you set a new goal, you will need to generate an action plan. This action plan consists of the tasks that you need to do in order to reach your goals. The difficulty of the tasks in your action plan can varies and there will be some tasks that are harder to do than others. Let us look at an example:</p>
<p>If you are trying to <a title="how to lose weight" href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/423/10-tips-to-help-you-lose-weight-healthily/" target="_blank">lose weight and stay healthy</a>, some of the tasks that you can think of may include;</p>
<ul>
<li>Lifting weights for 3 times a week</li>
<li>Performing Cardio exercises for 3 times a week</li>
<li>Avoid foods that are high in sugar</li>
<li>Avoid high glycemic index foods such as pasta, white bread, rice etc</li>
<li>Reduce intake of fried foods</li>
<li>Give up some of your favorite but unhealthy food</li>
<li>Have your cheat meal once a week</li>
<li>Start brisk walking 3 times a  week</li>
<li>Eat an apple a day</li>
</ul>
<p>Some tasks may seem easier and most likely, you will try to do those first. Human has a tendency to avoid pain and change. You will tend to avoid tasks that seems too<strong> hard to do, overwhelming and tedious</strong>. However, these tasks bring you the most rewards (go read about the <a title="80/20 principle" href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/857/are-you-using-the-80-20-principle-in-your-life/" target="_blank">80/20 principle</a>).</p>
<p>If you scan through the list, there will be a little voice in your head telling you which are the tasks you dread and try to avoid it. Usually these tasks seem harder than others do and they cause you to question your ability to accomplish it.</p>
<p>There are times that I took my eyes off my goals and start being choosy. The result is that I avoid my essential tasks that lead to mediocre results. <p>The reason why I am not doing as much as I should is because these tasks seem like hard work and I am being choosy on picking tasks to complete. I am picking easier tasks to complete and avoiding the harder tasks that will bring in more results.</p>
<p>I find that when you question your ability to complete tasks that seem harder, you create doubt. Doubt creates inner friction in your mind and you will find that you are trying to move forward but something in your mind is <a title="stop you from achieving success" href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/1869/warning-dont-let-your-human-instinct-stop-you-from-achieving-success/" target="_blank">dragging you back from achieving</a>. The only way to get rid of the inner friction that is slowing you down is to focus on what needs to be done instead of being choosy and questioning whether can you do it or not.</p>
<h3>Inner Friction</h3>
<p>I am curious about human behavior and I am trying to find an answer on how to help one to achieve his or her goals without many obstacles from the mind. I noticed that there are people who can achieve their goals at a rapid rate while there are others who are crawling painfully trying to catch up. So what are the differences between them?</p>
<p>One big difference between the fast achievers and the slower achievers is their ability to keep their eyes glued to their goals. The fast achievers will complete essential tasks that need to be done instead of choosing to complete tasks based on their difficulty.</p>
<h3>Conclusion</h3>
<p>The reason why you are not doing what needs to be done is that you took your eyes off your goals. If you are not <a title="focus and achieve great results" href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/783/how-to-stay-focused-and-achieve-great-results/" target="_blank">focusing on what needs to be done</a> and you are being picky on your tasks (choosing to do only easy tasks), you will face frustrations because of your slow progress. Stop being choosy about your tasks. To move faster towards your goal, think about what needs to be done instead of choosing tasks that you think that you can easily complete.</p>

<p>Every living creature on the planet has their own survival instinct. This instinct is able to help us to protect our life so that we can prevent our species from extinction. An animal will be fleeing with unfamiliar scent, sight or noise. A plant will grow towards light and avoid darkness so that it can receive the sunlight that it needs in order to survive.<span id="more-1869"></span></p>
<p>As human, we also have this basic survival instinct in us to help us survive in the world. This instinct comes in handy when we are living in the jungle with predators hunting us for food. Our survival instinct will instruct us to avoid the unknowns, get our adrenaline rushing and escape from immediate dangers.</p>
<p>But the situation had changed. In the world we are living right now, we are no longer threatened by predators such as tigers or lions. However our basic survival instinct is still in us. In our modern and complicated world, this instinct turns out to be a <strong>double edge sword</strong> and we will hurt ourselves if we are not careful with it.</p>
<h3>Our Most Basic Instinct</h3>
<p>Our survival instinct guides us away from danger. This means that anything that poses a danger to our life, we will avoid it at all cost. If we are still living in the jungle era, this will be a handy skill to have. We wouldn&#8217;t want to be caught sleeping in a cave filled with tigers.</p>
<p>Even though our natural predators are removed from our environment, our strong survival instinct is still in us. It is still trying to protect us and want us to keep on surviving. The dangers and risks have changed but our survival instinct has not. It is still trying to keep us away from things that are unknown or things that are out of our comfort zone.</p>
<p>Things that we do not know and things outside our comfort zone tend to bring a <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/1106/how-to-conquer-your-fear-in-4-simple-steps/" target="_blank">feeling of fear</a> in us. This fear is activated by our survival instinct as it wants us to avoid things that we are not certain about or things that can possibly &#8220;hurt&#8221; us. Our instinct has mistaken these unknowns as something that pose a danger to our life and want us to stay away from it as far as possible.</p>
<h3>How Our Survival Instinct Limits Us</h3>
<p>Our survival instinct that is used to keep us safe from harm can be back firing and limit our potential growth.</p>
<p>Some examples would be&#8230;</p>
<ul>
<li>Fear of approaching the girl of your dream due to fear of failure.</li>
<li>Avoid starting a business because of the <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/918/7-failures-that-end-up-successful/" target="_blank">fear of failure</a>.</li>
<li>Fear of learning a new skill because it may prove not to be a worthy investment. (Uncertainty)</li>
</ul>
<p>As you can see, these are the situations that do not pose any danger to our life. However these situations are pushing us out into the unknowns and there is a possibility that it will fail and &#8220;hurt&#8221; us in some ways.</p>
<h3>How Win Over Your Confused Survival Instinct</h3>
<p>Imagine how much growth you would attain if you are able to take action to accomplish anything without your instinct kicking in and telling you to stop? You will go out there and start your own business, approach the girl or guy of your dream or speak to a huge audience <strong>without any fear</strong>. I bet anyone who is not obstructed by uncertainty is able to move forward so fast and <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/586/how-to-achieve-success-in-everything/" target="_blank">achieve huge success</a> in his or her life.</p>
<p>To achieve this, you will need to have your survival instinct standing on your side instead of against you. You will need to convince your instinct that not doing something (starting your own business or approaching the guy or girl of your dream) can cause you much more harm and pain in the long run. When your survival instinct knows this, instead of stopping you, it will be edging you to go for what you want.</p>
<p>Here are the steps to follow to get your survival instinct on your side.</p>
<ul>
<li>Grab a piece of paper.</li>
<li>Write out what you want.</li>
<li>Write down why you are not achieving it yet.</li>
<li>Write down what is it that you will lose out or be inflicted with emotional pain if you did not achieve the thing that you decided that you want in your life time.</li>
<li>Visualize the pain of not achieving. Think of the worst that can happen. Think in pictures and add in painful emotions.</li>
<li>Make a decision to go for what you want and start setting goals and creating action plan and strategies to achieve what you want.</li>
</ul>
<p>When you start to write out and visualize how you will suffer if you do not achieve, your survival instinct now comes to your aid. Because you will be feeling the pain if you do not achieve what you want and your survival instinct guides you away from pain and towards pleasure. This means bringing you towards the direction of your goal.</p>
<h3>Parting Words</h3>
<p>Our survival  instinct can hold us back from achieving what we want but if we are able to get it to stand on our side, we can tap on the unlimited potential of it to help us get anything that we want. This instinct is so strong because it is what that has helped the human species to survive up till now. So is your instinct standing against you or standing on your side?</p>

<h3>What You Can Learn From Dota</h3>
<h5>Your hero&#8217;s strength and weakness</h5>

<p>In Dota, you will need to know what are the strengths of your hero, the things they are capable of doing and their weakness. You need this information so that you can play to your strength and minimize your weakness. Trying to pump skills that your hero is weak in will take too much effort and time and most of the time you will only receive mediocre results. If you are playing as a hero who has great strength and low mana pool for magic, it doesn&#8217;t really make sense to put in all the effort to turn him into a character who uses magic. It  will be much more easier to train him in terms of strength where he can really excel.</p>
<p>In real life, you will need to find out your strength and play to it. Instead of trying to turn your weakness into your strength, why not minimize your weakness but spend most of your effort to work on your strength? This will help u to use the least amount of effort to attain the maximum result. It is a classical example of the <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/857/are-you-using-the-80-20-principle-in-your-life/" target="_blank">80/20 principle.</a></p>
<h5>Know when to attack and when to defense</h5>

<p>In an hour long game, there will be multiple times when you will take turns attacking and defending. However the team will lose if they only know how to attack and neglect about defending and vice versa. Dota is a game where you need to <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/443/what-everyone-ought-to-know-about-renewing-yourself/" target="_blank">strike a balance</a> in attacking and defending in order to win.</p>
<p>In our life, there are examples where we spend too much time in ether side and that can cause us our downfall. If you are always &#8220;defending&#8221; in life, that means you are playing too timid and staying too much in your own safety zone, you will lose out the chance to win. How about spending too much time in &#8220;attack&#8221;? If you are spending too much time on trying to <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/586/how-to-achieve-success-in-everything/" target="_blank">achieve success</a> in your career but you forget about your family and friends which are things that are also important, your success will be meaningless. You wouldn&#8217;t want to return back home with lots of money but without anyone to celebrate with.</p>

You wouldn&#8217;t want to go out to attack while your team mate is trying to flee away, leaving you alone to face 5 opponent heroes at the same time(My teammate had scolded me for leaving him behind before). The lesson for this point is always let your team mates know what you want to do and also what you are thinking instead of assuming that they know what you are thinking.</p>
<p>There are too much time when we assumed that others knew our thoughts. This will lead us to lots of misunderstanding. If you are working in a team, you will need to hone your communication skills as it can help you to clear up lots of misunderstanding and get things done in the most efficient way. One way you can use to communicate better is to not to assume. Do not assume that others knew what you want, instead deliver the information in a clear and concise way to them. You can tell them to paraphrase what you had said to ensure that they had understood it.</p>
<h5>Strategies and planning</h5>

<p>If you do not plan ahead to attack in Dota, you will find your team mate confused and they will stay idle waiting for something to happen. That means that there is a high possibility that your team mates will be outnumbered when engaging the enemy as the attack will not be in sync. All these can be prevented by planning ahead, so that all 5 of you can attack at the same time.</p>
<p>You will need a plan if you want to have a successful attack and it is the same if you want successful results in your life. A good plan can help you to have a vision of what you want and it also act as a guide for you to follow.</p>

<p>There are lots of items in Dota but they are not meant for every hero. You do not really need some of those items and if you spend huge amount of money on those items, you are basically wasting your hard earned money.</p>
<p>There are times when we spend our money on things that we don&#8217;t really need and it sucks money out of our pocket. Those are liabilities. If we <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/500/how-to-spend-money-like-the-rich/" target="_blank">spend too much money</a> on getting a cell phone, new car or branded goods every now and then, we will not have enough resources to buy assets. So what are assets? As what Robert Kiyosaki said, &#8220;Assets are things that are putting money into your pocket.&#8221; Assets such as properties, stocks, books and etc are what we should be accumulating as they are able to provide additional streams of income.</p>
<h5>Be observant and be aware of your surroundings</h5>

<p>One unwritten rule of the game is you must always pay attention to your mini map. The mini map shows you the whole picture of the game and you will need to check it out frequently to be aware of the positioning of your allies and enemies. If you pay attention to the mini map, you can also look out for opportunities to help gank (double team) an enemy&#8217;s hero. Which means that you will get more kills, money and experience.</p>
<p>First of all, I would like to test how observant you are and your awareness of your surroundings. Do you know which light is on the top of the traffic light? Is it the red or the green? I believe most of you have hesitated before answering even though you cross the road everyday. The answer is red. Did you get that right? If you answered correctly without any hesitation, congrats! Most people are not sure about the answer and you will be among the minority if you got that right.</p>
<p>In the real world, there are lots of opportunities that are waiting for us to grab it. All we need to do is to be aware of the opportunities around us. Living without any awareness of the surroundings means that we will miss out on chances that can be our &#8220;<a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/609/how-to-be-lucky-using-10-simple-steps/" target="_blank">lucky break</a>&#8220;. My favorite example of how awareness can help one to be rich is the mistake prone secretary who created the correction fluid which  turn out to be a million dollar product.</p>

Rushing from one place to another or working on one task after another without resting can cause our mind to work in a subconscious way, which means that you will not be aware of what is happening around you.</p>

<p>If we want to achieve great results and be successful in life, we need to learn from those who had been there and done that. Michael Jordan has the qualities to be successful and he is definitely a great role model that we can learn from.</p>
<p>Michael Jordan is a guy who was cut out of his varsity basketball team because he was deemed too short to play at 1.8 meter but he turned out to be highly successful in his basketball career and was known as a legend in the game.</p>
<p>He had showed the mental toughness to bounce back from failure and here are 7 lessons we can learn from him.<span id="more-793"></span></p>
<h3>7 Lessons We Can Learn From Michael Jordan</h3>
<h5>1. Our Own Expectation</h5>

<p>A common trait between the <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/586/how-to-achieve-success-in-everything/" target="_blank">successful people</a> in life is that they always have high expectations of themselves. We may say that this is one of the core attributes that we need in order to achieve success. When we expect a certain standard of ourselves, regardless of high or low, we will fall into them naturally.</p>
<p>Michael Jordan expect himself to be the best in the game, that is why he spent countless hours practicing to bring out the best in him. He can definitely cut back on his practice hours and spend his time on other activities but his expectation of himself to be the best doesn&#8217;t allow it.</p>
<h5>2. Do not fear failure</h5>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I&#8217;ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I&#8217;ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I&#8217;ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.&#8221;<br />

<p>Most people are afraid of failing. They are so fearful of failure that it halt all their action but the funny thing in life is that if we do not take any action, we are doom for failure. Contradicting isn&#8217;t it?</p>
<p>Failure is part of success. We can actually perceive failure as a feedback and the feedback works as a reminder to tell us something is wrong and we need to fix it. Failure doesn&#8217;t condemn us, it is just Nature&#8217;s way of telling us to fix something that isn&#8217;t right.</p>
<h5>3. Just Try</h5>

<p>We won&#8217;t know the results until we give it a try and that is why we must always try something before we come out with 101 reasons of why we can&#8217;t do it. Everyone has their fair share of obstacles and obstacles are meant to be conquered.</p>

<p>Michael Jordan never give up and that is why he is being regarded as a legend in the basketball game and not a drop out of the varsity basketball team. He was cut from the varsity team but that doesn&#8217;t mean the end of his dream. Instead of whining and complaining, he doubled his effort in training and made it into his varsity roster.</p>
<h5>5. Hard Work</h5>

If we want to achieve something, just put in the hard work and the results will definitely come.</p>
<h5>6. Make Things Happen</h5>

<p>Dreaming allow us to think of the wonderful possibilities that can happen to us but a dream is just a dream. We can spend all day long day dreaming and wish things could happen but things won&#8217;t happen without us lifting a finger. Dreams are there to inspire us but don&#8217;t just wish that something would happen, make it happen by taking massive action.</p>
<h5>7. Passion</h5>

<p>It is hard to be successful in things that you do not have passion in because it tends to bore you in the long run. People who are highly successful today have great passion in the things they do. Donald Trump love to close his deals, Warren Buffett love to invest and would tap dance to work everyday and Michael Jordan just love his game.</p>
<p>Find things that excite you and strive to achieve excellent results in it. You will find it a lot more easier to be successful in that field because your passion will help to lift you even when the chips are down.</p>

<p>There are lots of role model in this world that we can learn from and Michael Jordan is one of them. He had shown us that achieving is possible and all we need is to believe in our own capabilities, don&#8217;t be fearful of failure and work hard to achieve results. <h3>Fear Of Stingray</h3>
<p>The above photo was taken when I went to the underwater world at Sentosa in Singapore. There are a few attractions there  and the one that I particularly enjoyed was the stingray aquarium.</p>
<p>It is the feeding time for the stingrays when I reached there and I decided to pay 3 bucks to buy some sliced fish to feed it. I was told to put the piece of fish between my fingers, put my hand into the aquarium and let go when you can feel the stingray sucking at the food.<span id="more-1106"></span></p>
<p>It is rather scary to dip your hand into a pool filled with stingrays and it doesn&#8217;t help when they are really huge. I dropped the first piece of fish immediately when one stingray approached me as I was scared by its huge presence. The above photo was taken on the 3rd or 4th try when I decided to just stick my hand there and promised myself not to remove my hand from the pool until I can feel the stingray&#8217;s mouth on my hand. I succeeded as you can see in the above photo. After the feeding session, I felt empowered as I had <a href="http://www.pluginid.com/worlds-biggest-fear/" target="_blank">overcome the fear</a> of stingray at that instance.</p>
<h3>Why Do You Want To Overcome Fear?</h3>
<p>Your fear is your limit. It stops you from achieving what you really want. I believe everyone have that moment when you wanted to do something but decided not to because of your fear.</p>
<p>Here are some examples:</p>
<ol>
<li>Fail to start a business because fear of failure stops you from doing anything.</li>
<li>Fail to confess to the girl you really like because of your fear of rejection.</li>
<li>Fail to put in your best effort in something because you fear that your effort won&#8217;t be enough to help you succeed.</li>
</ol>
<p>Imagine what if you could overcome your fear and start doing things that you really want to do instead of accepting things that you don&#8217;t really want due to fear. Will you be happier? Will you achieve more out of life? I believe you had answered &#8216;Yes&#8217; to both the questions. If you decided to live your life to the fullest, here are some ways you can use to conquer your fear.</p>
<h3>4 Simple Steps To Conquer Your Fear</h3>
<h5>1. Your Fear May Be False Evidences Created By Yourself</h5>
<p>Fear is due to the negative images you had generated in your mind. For example, when I wanted to feed the stingray, images such as the stingray biting me and the slimy feeling of its skin came into my mind. That is why I dropped the piece of fish immediately when the stingray approached.</p>
<p>However when the stingray came in contact with my hand when I was feeding it, I find that the stingray is not slimy and it won&#8217;t bite. The stingray  is actually soft and nice to touch and this shows that my fear is actually false evidences created by myself.</p>
<p>Face your fear and capture those negative images that come to your mind. Acknowledge those negative images are false evidences that you had created and you will receive a little bit more of courage to help you to conquer your fear.</p>
<h5>2. Replace Negative Images With Positive Ones</h5>
<p>Once you had identified the negative images, you need to replace them with positive ones. Think about the benefits and use those positive images to replace the negative images. I replaced the image of a fierce and slimy stingray with a image of a cute and fluffy stingray(I created a cute cartoon of a stingray in my mind). I ran the image through my mind a few times and this helps to diminish the fear.</p>
<p>If you want to start a business but fear of doing so, business <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/918/7-failures-that-end-up-successful/" target="_blank">failure</a> may be one of the negative images that you have. Replace the negative image with a positive image of you succeeding in the business and run the image in the your mind for a few times. Doing this can help to empowers you to take action and conquer your fear of starting a business.</p>
<h5>3. Do it.</h5>
<blockquote><p><em>Just Do It. ~ Nike</em></p></blockquote>
<p>Thinking breeds fear and doing overcomes it. Use the positive images to empower yourself and just start taking action. Stop thinking and start doing because the more you think, the higher the chances that you won&#8217;t do it. Once you start doing what you feared to do, your fears will disappear away quickly.</p>
<h5>4. Use Momentum To Conquer More Of Your Fear</h5>
<p>Once you had conquered one of your fear, you will gain a new positive belief that you can conquer your fear if you want to. Use this belief to help you conquer other fears that are holding you back in life. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish when you knock down your fears one by one. That is when you truly enjoy your life to the fullest.</p>
<h3>Parting Words</h3>
<p>I knew that fear will limit my potential and I will lose out opportunities to try things that I have never done before. Those things I missed out due to fear may be enjoyable or rewarding. In order to enjoy life to its fullest, I decided that I need to overcome all the fears that are holding me back.</p>

<h3>Holding Yourself Accountable</h3>
<p>Have you <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/918/7-failures-that-end-up-successful/" target="_blank">failed</a> to achieve your goals before? I believe most of us had. When we set a goal, we need to create an action plan to guide us towards our goals. However it is common for us to fail when we failed to follow through our action plan.<span id="more-1006"></span></p>
<p>If you set a goal to lose 20 lbs in 2 months time. In order to achieve that, you need to create a 2 months action plan and stick to it. Your action plan consist of exercising 5 days a week and have a cheat meal only once a week. However you skip your daily exercises and have extra cheat meals, which means it is now highly unlikely for you to achieve your goals.  In order to achieve your goals, following through your action plan is the key to success. So what can you do to increase the chances of you sticking to your plan?</p>
<h3>Accountability</h3>
<p>The definition of accountability is to be responsible for your action. Being accountable for our goals can help us to increase our chances of achieving it. I think most of us set goals in private and do not dare to share it with others. This may be due to shyness or fear of the possibility of others mocking at our goals. But keeping our goals to ourselves may be our biggest mistake that caused us to fail.  If we are really scare to declare our goals publicly, the more we should do it. Why? It is because doing this will allow us to use fear to our advantage.</p>
<p>Once our goals are known to the public, it will make us fearful of what they will say to us when we do not achieve our goals. Either way, fear is going to be present regardless whether you are sharing your goals with them or not. So why not use fear to your advantage?</p>
<h3>My Story</h3>
<p>If you have been reading my articles for awhile now, you should know that I did a <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/560/result-30-days-challenge/" target="_blank">30 days challenge</a> which I had publicly announced it in this blog. I had doubts about announcing my 30 days challenge publicly. There are a lot of &#8220;what if&#8221; questions and self doubts popping out in my mind. Thoughts such as what if I failed, what if no one read my blog after my <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/918/7-failures-that-end-up-successful/" target="_blank">failure</a> and etc.</p>
<p>After my internal battles, I decided to just go ahead and announce my challenge publicly as this will help me to hold myself accountable for my actions. This means there is a higher possibility to achieve my goals and in the same time the challenge will provide content for my blog.</p>
<p>After my announcement, I knew that I need to be accountable for my actions. I need results to show to my readers and that is why I worked harder. I also gained the extra strength to drag myself to complete my workouts even <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/850/how-to-get-things-done-even-when-do-not-feel-like-doing-anything/" target="_blank">when I do not feel like doing it</a>. At the end of my 30 days challenge, I achieved a healthier body and there was also an increase in traffic to my blog.</p>
<p>Most of my &#8220;what if&#8221; never realized and instead I got the results that I am happy with.  I came to the conclusion that by holding yourself accountable for your results, you will be able to tap into your deepest potential and draw out the extra energy to help you achieve your goals.</p>
<h3>How To Be Accountable For Your Goals</h3>
<p>Being accountable for your goals means that you will need others to know about it so that they can keep a look out on you. Here are some ways you can use to help you to be accountable for your goals.</p>
<h5>1. Blog</h5>
<p>If you have a blog, you can follow what I did in my 30 days challenge. Post your goals on your blog and <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/732/the-importance-of-setting-time-limit/" target="_blank">set a deadline.</a> Try not to set a deadline that is too long away(30 days preferably). I found that it is hard to achieve goals that seems so far away. If you have big goals that cannot be achieved in short term, break it out into smaller goals.</p>
<h5>2. Forum</h5>
<p>There are lots of self help forums that you can join. You can post your goals there and tell everyone in the forum what you are going to achieve and when you will achieve it. This can help to hold yourself accountable for your results. You can try <a href="http://www.stevepavlina.com/forums/" target="_blank">Steve Pavlina&#8217;s forum.</a></p>
<h5>3. Accountability Partner</h5>
<p>I currently have an accountability partner. I met up with one of my friends recently and we sat down together and set some goals for the month of May. The deadline is around one month from now and we also have punishments or rewards in place if we succeed or fail to achieve our goals. I find this method motivating and I can&#8217;t slack off because someone is always keeping a close watch on me.</p>
<p>Find someone you can work well with and set some goals together. Spur each other on and prepare the rewards and punishments. This is a great way to keep yourself accountable and motivated. Doing this will help you to greatly increase your chances of <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/31/powerful-goal-setting/" target="_blank">achieving your goals.</a></p>
<h3>Parting Words</h3>
<p>It can be frustrating if you constantly fail to achieve your goals. Set your goals and do it differently this time round. Be accountable for your goals by announcing it publicly through forums, blogs or find an accountability partner. <h3>Gurus</h3>
<p>Advertisements by gurus (experts) usually include testimonials from people who had benefited from their programs, of which many claim that they had achieved remarkable financial success.  Seeing such testimonials on the advertisements, you may have the tendency to join the guru&#8217;s programs.</p>
<p>After going through the guru&#8217;s $2997 program, you are supposed to achieve financial success. However, six months down the road, instead of becoming richer, you are $2997 poorer.</p>
<p>So whose fault it is? Is it the guru&#8217;s fault? Is it a scam?<span id="more-946"></span></p>
<h3>Whose Fault</h3>
<p>Some people are questioning why the gurus are sharing their blueprints for success. Doesn&#8217;t that create more competitors for them? The answer to that question is because majority of the people will fail to <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/786/who-else-want-to-know-the-benefits-of-taking-initiative/" target="_blank">take action</a> even though they have the blueprint for success. It means out of 1000 people, maybe only 10 to 20 people will take action. This does not create serious competition for the gurus. And yes, the gurus knew this all along.</p>
<h3>Inaction</h3>
<p>Success is the result of taking action yet most people consume information with little or no action. This will cause them to fail at what they are doing and they may come to the conclusion that they had fell into a scam set up by the gurus.</p>
<p>I do not think that all the guru&#8217;s products are perfect (nothing is perfect anyway) but most of them do provide you with valuable information. If you are able to soak up all those information and take daily action consistently, you will definitely achieve some results.</p>
<h3>My Story With A Guru</h3>
<p>I started HealthMoneySuccess.com around September 08 as I wanted to use this as a platform to share with people what I had learned and to inspire people to seek out the life that they truly want. I do not take blogging as a leisure activity as I believe this is what I want to do and I want to turn it into a business which can help people and at the same time also generate a full time income.</p>
<p>After blogging for about 2 months time, I felt that I need to take my blog into a different level so I searched online for people whom I feel can become my mentor. If my memory does not fail me, I found the blog <a href="http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com" target="_blank">Entrepreneurs-Journey.com</a> by Yaro Starak through a link in one of the articles on <a href="http://www.problogger.net" target="_blank">www.ProBlogger.net</a>.</p>
<p>Yaro Starak writes about entrepreneurship and internet marketing in Entrepreneurs-Journey.com and he created the <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/products/blog-mastermind" target="_blank">Blog Mastermind Program</a> to teach people how to blog. I was curious about how this guy actually earns a five figure income through blogging and I went to download his free report, <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/products/blog-profit-blueprint " target="_blank">Blog Profit Blueprint</a>, and finish reading it in a single go.</p>
<p>When I finished the report, I found the information very relevant to what I want to learn and felt that this is the guy who I could learn from. I decided to sign up for his <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/products/blog-mastermind" target="_blank">Blog Mastermind Program.</a></p>
<p>After enrolling in the program, I took action immediately and applied what I had learnt from his weekly lessons. I have a daily to-do list and I took daily action to build up my blog. By taking action daily, I have seen positive results in the amount of traffic and subscribers on my blog.</p>
<p>But what if I was just reading the information that Yaro had provided without taking any action? I believe my blog will still be struggling to take off. I would just lose faith and think that the idea of blogging as a business is a scam. Ultimately, I may even give up blogging totally.</p>
<h3>You Hold The Key To Your Success</h3>
<p>Success is in our hands and gurus are there to help us to move faster towards our goals. They do make money by teaching us skills but if we decide to learn everything by ourselves, we need to spend a lot more time making trials and errors. A guru acting as your mentor will help to shorten your learning curve and that is why I am willing to pay money to learn from them.</p>
<h3>How To Get The Best Out Of The Guru&#8217;s Programs</h3>
<h5>1. Commitment</h5>
<p>You need to be committed to learn from the program and take action. If you are going to treat the program as something that you will only do whenever you have the free time, you will most probably not take much action or see any results.</p>
<h5>2. Focus</h5>
<p>Most people can&#8217;t <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/783/how-to-stay-focused-and-achieve-great-results/" target="_blank">focus</a> on a single program. They tend to purchase another program when they have not even completed their previous program. When you need to <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/700/the-key-to-productivity-single-tasking/" target="_blank">deal with 2 or more</a> programs, you tend to do a little of everything and it is also highly possible that you will not take any action to get the most out of the program.</p>
<p>Do not purchase another program when you have not completed your previous one. Be sure to focus on one program as this will ensure that you can get the most out of it.</p>
<h5>3. Learn and apply at the same time.</h5>
<p>Some people prefer to learn everything before applying them but I prefer to apply what I had learnt immediately. If you are to apply what you had learnt immediately, chances are the topic is still fresh in your mind and you will recall the information much more easily. Immediate application of what you had learnt will also help you to <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/158/10-tips-for-blasting-procrastination/" target="_blank">keep procrastination at bay.</a></p>
<h5>4. Take daily action.</h5>
<p>If you apply your new knowledge and take daily action everyday, you are already ahead of the pack. Create a plan and make it your habit to take action everyday. If you are doing something right everyday, the effect of compounding will take place and sooner or later you will definitely see your results.</p>
<h5>5. Have faith</h5>
<p>You bought the program from the guru because you have faith in it. If you had done your homework when purchasing the product, have faith in it and keep working hard. So many people are blinded by the thought of instant <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/348/words-successful/" target="_blank">success</a> such as winning the lottery or receiving a huge amount of inheritance. These rarely happen.</p>
<p>Do not lose faith in the program you had bought, be it making money online or teaching you how to make money in the stock market, just keep learning, take action daily, don&#8217;t give up too easily and you will definitely reach the day where you can reap your harvest.</p>

<h3>The Power Of Momentum</h3>
<p>Most people do not truly understand the power of the momentum and they do not use it to its fullest potential. If we know how to use momentum to our advantage we will be able to use it to achieve much more in life. Momentum is so powerful that when we have gathered enough momentum, we will be able to easily <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/313/do-you-give-up-easily/" target="_blank">overcome obstacles</a> that we had not conquered in the past.<span id="more-939"></span></p>
<h3>The Man Who Knows How To Use The Power Of Momentum</h3>
<p>I was browsing the forums and I chanced by an article which I find it inspiring.</p>
<p>Here is an excerpt of it:</p>

<p>When I read this article, I was thinking to myself, &#8220;Hey. This guy (Steve) knows how to tap into the power of momentum to help him achieve his goals.&#8221;</p>
<p>Steve knew that by <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/850/how-to-get-things-done-even-when-do-not-feel-like-doing-anything/" target="_blank">consistently taking action</a> and moving towards his goals, the momentum will gather and when he has the momentum by his side, he can get things done much more easily. The same applies to us. If we know how to tap into the power of the momentum, we can use it to help us achieve more results in life.</p>
<h3>How Create Your Momentum</h3>
<h5>1. Be Unsatisfied With Something</h5>
<p>Are you unsatisfied with something in your life? Momentum will start rolling when we are unsatisfied with something in our life. For example, you are overweight and the prom night is coming in a month time yet you couldn&#8217;t squeeze into your gown and you decided that you need to do something about it immediately. Being unsatisfied with something and wanting to do something about it immediately will help you create the momentum.</p>
<h5>2. Set A Goal To Help You Overcome Your Problem</h5>
<p>The problem was identified and you will need to set a goal to help you overcome your problem. Setting a goal will help you to have a finishing line where you can work hard towards it.</p>
<p>Using the previous example, now you are unsatisfied with you weight, you decided to set a goal of losing 10 lbs in a month time. Creating a <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/560/result-30-days-challenge/" target="_blank">30 days challenge</a> to shed off 10 lbs will be good idea.</p>
<h5>3. Set up action plan</h5>
<p>Once you have a goal to work towards to, you need to create an action plan that you must follow. By creating an action plan, you are also breaking up your goal into smaller pieces which is much more easier to achieve and it also helps to you to gather momentum. Most people made the mistake of setting a goal without an action plan. That is why most of them fail to reach their goals.</p>
<p>An action plan is a detailed plan of what you will need to do everyday in order to reach your goal. For example, in order to lose the 10 lbs in a month time, you will need to plan your 30 days by determining how many days you will exercise (which day in the week and how long you will need to exercise) and what type of food you will eat. The action plan should be as detailed as possible.</p>
<h5>4. Follow Your Plan</h5>
<p>An action plan is useless if you are not following it. It will be hard to follow your plan in the first place but as long as you stick to your plan and complete the tasks that you have to do for the day, your momentum will gather and completing your tasks will be getting easier and easier.</p>
<p>Remember to tick off your tasks in your action plan. It may serve as a motivation and a reminder to you that you are getting things done.</p>
<h5>5. Your Finishing Line</h5>
<p>The first few days will be the hardest for you to complete your tasks but if you are able to stick to your action plan and keep <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/905/oops-i-threw-my-trophies-away/" target="_blank">moving forward</a> everyday, you will find that momentum will slowly gather and gradually it will be hard for you to stop doing your tasks because your momentum gathering fast. When your momentum is powerful, you may even find it hard to stop until you have reach your finishing line.</p>
