Watching TV is one of the world’s favorite leisure activities. Studies have shown that on average, people spend 3 hours daily watching TV shows. This is about 90 hours per month or 1080 hours per year. This is a lot of time that we can spend on other tasks that can help us to move closer to our goals.

I also find that the news on TV is not really helping us to grow and in fact, it can plant negative thoughts in our mind. These negative thoughts can grow and affect the way we think and act. I will elaborate on these points below.

Why I Quit Watching TV Shows

1. Wasting Too Much Time

Spending lots of time watching TV shows can be really counter productive. Imagine spending 3 hours daily doing nothing but watching TV shows that includes re-runs, commercials and negative news. How productive can you be? These 3 hours can be spent on things that truly matters instead. Such as doing tasks that will bring you closer to your goals.

I believe moderation is the key here. If you truly want to accelerate your personal growth, limit your time on the TV and spend those times on tasks that truly matters. Just a reminder, how is your New Year Resolution going?

2. Negative News

Negative news is all around us. Go pick up your daily newspaper and look at the headline or watch the TV news. Most of the time they are announcing negative news about recession, natural disaster, robberies or murders.

Negative news sells and I don’t think they will ever go away. If you walk past a newspaper stand and the headline is “Weather is good and the economy is stable”, most likely you will take a look at it, smile and continue to walk off.

But if the news headline is “Recession is coming and there may be a typhoon around your area”, immediately you pay attention to it and rush off to buy the newspaper to read more about it.

If you are constantly putting fearful and negative thoughts into your mind, it will start to turn negative and fearful. You may than find that you become more of a pessimist and it affect the way you think and act.

I had read articles and books on successful people and the one thing they have in common is that they protect their mind. They refuse to allow negative news that they have no control over to enter their mind.

There isn’t any use for reading negative information but there isn’t anything that you can do about it. You definitely do not want these negative news to affect the way that you look at the world (example: reading about robberies and think that the world is hostile). A strong and positive mindset is one of the best weapons that you can use in the pursuit of success.

3. Wrong Influence

The media have the habit to portray the wrong images to the audience. One great example; they like to portray the rich as bad people and the poor as good people. How many times have you seen a rich person and you think that he must be a jerk? Or you saw a beautiful lady and you think that she must have a flirty personality?

Most probably it is due to watching too many TV shows that show you this type of content and it have conditioned your mind to think this way. If you truly want to be rich and successful, you definitely can’t have the thought “the rich are bad people” in your mind. If you think the rich are bad, how can you possibly want to be rich? You are creating an inner friction in yourself that will slow you down when you try to achieve financial success.

Parting Words

I have not watch any dramas or TV shows for about 2 years. As such, I am able to use this free time to train for my marathon, work on my blog, create websites and study for my school work.

I wonder how much difference will it make to your life if you start to spend lesser time in front of the TV? How much more productive you will be? How much stronger will your mindset become?

As always, discussion in the comments section is welcomed.

Cheers,

Recently I find that I am getting more aware of my inner self talk. I’m putting in more effort to listen to what I am saying to myself so that I can discover whether what I am saying is empowering or disempowering myself.

Everyone have this inner self talk going on but not everyone will pay attention to it. But believe me, you will want to know what you are saying to yourself everyday. This is one of the key to unleashing your maximum potential. (If you have not get your free copy of Unleash Your Maximum Potential, you can get it here.)

Inner Chatters

So what do I mean by inner self talk? The inner self talk that is happening in you is a form of communication between you and yourself. It is basically talking to yourself about certain topics and it may be positive or negative. Depending on what you are saying to yourself, your own self talk can empower or disempower you.

If you had read the goals that I had set for myself in this year of 2010, you will know that one of my goals is to complete a marathon by the end of the year. My recent trainings have made me more aware of the inner self talk that is going on in my mind.

Recently I had just hit the 6.2 miles mark and whenever I got tired the inner chatters start to surface. Some examples would be.

My legs are tired.

Are you sure you are going to complete a full marathon?

How much more further do I need to go?

When am I going to reach my finishing point?

I feel like my lungs are bursting, maybe it is time to stop?

I’m really tired, can I just stop?

6 miles is tiring enough and I still set a goal to complete a marathon?

Is publishing my goals on my blog a good decision? Now I can’t back off!

Notice anything? These chatters are not positive at all! They create doubts in my mind and increase the possibility of me stopping.

Your Inner Chatters

What about you? Have you ever take note of how are you communicating with yourself? Are you failing with your diet plan or stuck in the job that you hate because of all the negative inner self talk that is going on in you? Are you empowering yourself or disempowering yourself?

These inner self talks are powerful. Imagine every time when you want to start to lose weight, your inner self talk surfaced and you start telling yourself “This is hard!” or “I’m going to suffer in this diet”. How possible do you think that you are going to complete your diet and really start to lose weight? You may not even start in the first place after your negative inner self talks disempower you.

If you do not notice what you are telling to yourself or your negative self talk, you are allowing it to gobble you up. Most likely you will start to feel miserable and frustrated because you will feel that you are not growing and achieving.

How To Get Rid Of The Negative Self Talk

1. Awareness

If you are pursuing personal growth, you may have heard a lot about increasing your awareness. Because only by being aware, you can than know what is wrong and hence make changes to it.

It is the same in this scenario. If you have not caught your negative self talk yet, you may have to be more aware of it. Be more conscious of your emotions. Negative self talk usually surfaces when you are harboring negative emotions. Catch them at this time and take note of them.

2. Question.

Once you took note of the negative self talk, observe it. Ask yourself how these negative chatters are obstructing you from fulfilling your potential and how much frustration has it cause you in the past.

You have to address how much frustration and pain it causes you so that it can help you to reinforce your determination to change it.

3. Decide and Replace.

There isn’t any delete button in our mind and our negative self talk will not go away just by deciding to get rid of it. You will have to replace your negative self talk with a positive one.

Some examples;

Instead of saying “I think I can’t lose weight”, say “I can lose weight easily with the right strategies”.

Instead of saying “I hate my job”, why not say “I now know what I dislike hence I will make a better decision in my next job hunt.”

You get the picture?

You can also do something to interrupt your negative inner chatter to prevent it from happening. Whenever I am jogging and when my negative self talk starts to surface, I immediately interrupt it by saying “keep moving forward”. I kept repeating this 3 words and it pushes away all the negative thoughts and reinforce on my determination to complete my run. By repeating and focusing on my so call mantra, the negative self talk will not be able to surface.

Parting Words

Your negative self talk can disempower you and stop you from taking the action that you want. However when you turn your self talk into a positive one, you will feel much more empowered and capable to achieve the things that you want to achieve.

You want to keep yourself empowered and stay in a positive state for as much time as possible because these are the time when you can take serious action. So start today by being more aware of your self talk and turn them into positive and empowering ones.

Cheers,
Vincent

Protect Your Dream

This is a scene taken from The Pursuit Of Happiness. I totally love this movie and I had watched it twice. The story is based on a true story of Chris Gardner, a homeless salesman to a millionaire stock broker. If you have not watched it, I recommend that you go borrow it from your friends or get it at Amazon.

I believe many others have allowed others to kill off their dreams. Many people are fearful of going in the opposite direction of where the crowd is going. Hence, the social pressure can make one to give up their dream just for the sake of going with the crowd.

I believe some of you may have faced friends who had failed in their business and tried to convince that you can’t succeed. Or maybe you have friends who are overweight and think that it is ok to be overweight and convinced you not to make any changes? Maybe there will be people out there who are telling you that blogging is a waste of time?

Are you doing something that is different from others and they are disapproving of it and tell you to stop dreaming?

If so, are you allowing their words to get to you and kill off your dream?

I would love to hear your comments at the comment section below.

Warren Buffett is one of the world’s richest men and he is also one of the best investors in the world. He built up Berkshire Hathaway (a company whose share costs $100,000 per share) from scratch and he became a billionaire through investing alone.

I know that Warren Buffett is someone that I need to learn from if I want to become an excellent investor. I had read countless of his books, learning from the investment moves he made and also his yearly annual report. I had picked up valuable lessons from him and these lessons will definitely be useful to you as it can help you to grow your personal funds instead of seeing it dwindling.

So here are the 5 lessons I had picked up from him.

5 Personal Finance Lessons That Will Help You Grow Your Wealth

1. Spend wisely

Warren Buffett does not have a habit to splurge his money on toys such as big cars or fancy houses. Right now, he still lives in the same 5 bedroom apartment that he bought in 1957. He definitely has the capability (billionaire) to buy any toys he wants, but he simply chose to invest in the money instead.

He is not stingy about money, but he have the habit of thinking how much he will be losing out if he does not spend his money wisely. Because he believe in the power of investing and compounding, he knows that for every dollar spend foolishly, he will be losing the money for investment which he can make at least 20% return annually.

Lesson: Spend your money wisely and do not splurge on toys excessively.

2. No one will care about your money as much as you do.

Throughout his investing years, Warren Buffett does not let anyone handle his money. He checks up individual stocks by himself and makes the decision whether to buy or not.

If you allow other people (financial adviser, financial manager, stock broker) to handle your money, you will need to be aware of whether they are acting for your best benefit or theirs. Most of them have commissions for each investment that you made and sometimes they simply have too much customers on hand that they can’t pay attention to you.

Simply said, they don’t care about your money as much as you do.

Lessons learned: Invest in your financial education. Others do not care about your money as much as you do.

3. Know what you are doing

There are lots of financial instruments out there that promises you high returns in short period of time. Before you dive into them, ensure that you know what they are before buying. Most people trust others to make this decision (refer to point number 2) and they end up losing their money over their poor investment decision.

It is tempting to earn money in short amount of time but do put in the effort to know what you are going into before buying. There are many people who had incurred huge losses in the recent credit crisis because they do not know what they are buying and they ended up buying junks.

Lessons learned: Always know what you are doing when investing and remember to read the fine prints.

4. Risk of investing

Many people have fears that hold them back from investing. They think that it is risky to invest. Their mind is filled with the fear of risk and losing money, hence they are always on the side line while others are earning money investing.

You need to know the truth. It is riskier for you to place your money in the bank. For the measly interest rate that they are giving you, each dollar you put in is losing money immediately due to the inflation rate. Think about the price of a cup of coffee in the past and Starbucks now.

As Warren Buffett says, “Risk comes from not knowing what you are doing.”

Lesson learned: Overcome your fear of risk in investing. Investing is the only way you can beat the rate of inflation.

5. Think long term

Too many people overestimate what they can achieve in one year and underestimate what they can achieve in ten. Stop looking for ways to get rich quick and start investing now. When you are investing, always keep in mind that it pays to invest long term instead of switching around stocks.

Warren Buffett personally holds his stocks forever if he found a gem. Buying and selling stocks frequently will cost you admin charges and the commissions you have to pay to the stock broker.

“Life is like a snowball. The important thing is finding wet snow and a really long hill.” ~ Warren Buffett

I would like to change this quote a little. Investing is just like a snowball. The important thing is finding wet snow (great investments) and a really long hill (long term).

Lesson learned: It pays to invest early and holds on to your stock.

So do you have any other personal finance lessons that you want to share with me? I look forward to your comments and feedback.

Cheers,
Vincent

If it is a common occurrence for you to have one person or another who is disappointed in you, decision-making is a key component of handling that issue. Others who we deal with will not usually say this directly, but will hope that you make a decision, either right or wrong, and not stay indecisive. Decisions show a healthy sign of life, as they represent you taking a stand for something. One might say that you can either make decisions or let them be made for you.

Indecision Makes Others Think You Have A Problem

One of the first things that come to some one’s mind when you are indecisive in some way is that there is a problem in your mind, or in your activities, which you are not handling. This makes sense, because if you didn’t have any problems, you would certainly pick one end of a decision or the other. Next time you are indecisive, watch how another person responds, and you will see that they start to see you as a little more weak than they did before the occurrence.

If you don’t want others thinking you have issues you haven’t yet gotten control over, you have to hit them back with decisions right when the time is set for you to respond. Decisions can include saying “no” to propositions, or adjusting what the other person proposes to better suit your interests, but they can’t include hesitation or postponement, unless the postponement is realistic, and meant to give you ample time to research or assess in some way. Any form of trying to add extra fluff time to a decision is what we call ‘indecision’, and use of that will lead to your personal score decreasing in the eyes of those you deal with.

Watching A Movie Example

If a friend asks you if you want to see a certain new comedy movie at the theaters, you have a few options. This is a seemingly simple decision to make to some, but some can get hesitant here, and those same folks are likely to be hesitant in other opportunities to pick one option over another. In this case, you could either say “yes” or “no”, or suggest another movie, which would all be good for you, and your friend would understand your interests. On the other hand, if you said “maybe”, and then didn’t provide any more information, your friend would wonder if you had some issues.

There are only so many times you can say “maybe” before the other person thinks you either have a problem you haven’t conquered, or are treating them as less important than you should. Since no one wants to think you are viewing them as not that important, they will default to the thought that you have some internal issues, and that doesn’t help you when you next want to work or play with that person.

Think The Way Others Are Thinking

For the next time you have a decision to make in relation to someone else, remember that the first priority is to make the decision, and that they won’t be offended in any way if you turn them down, or adjust their proposition in some way, as long as you do it respectfully. Others are people just like you.

Every living creature on the planet has their own survival instinct. This instinct is able to help us to protect our life so that we can prevent our species from extinction. An animal will be fleeing with unfamiliar scent, sight or noise. A plant will grow towards light and avoid darkness so that it can receive the sunlight that it needs in order to survive.

As human, we also have this basic survival instinct in us to help us survive in the world. This instinct comes in handy when we are living in the jungle with predators hunting us for food. Our survival instinct will instruct us to avoid the unknowns, get our adrenaline rushing and escape from immediate dangers.

But the situation had changed. In the world we are living right now, we are no longer threatened by predators such as tigers or lions. However our basic survival instinct is still in us. In our modern and complicated world, this instinct turns out to be a double edge sword and we will hurt ourselves if we are not careful with it.

Our Most Basic Instinct

Our survival instinct guides us away from danger. This means that anything that poses a danger to our life, we will avoid it at all cost. If we are still living in the jungle era, this will be a handy skill to have. We wouldn’t want to be caught sleeping in a cave filled with tigers.

Even though our natural predators are removed from our environment, our strong survival instinct is still in us. It is still trying to protect us and want us to keep on surviving. The dangers and risks have changed but our survival instinct has not. It is still trying to keep us away from things that are unknown or things that are out of our comfort zone.

Things that we do not know and things outside our comfort zone tend to bring a feeling of fear in us. This fear is activated by our survival instinct as it wants us to avoid things that we are not certain about or things that can possibly “hurt” us. Our instinct has mistaken these unknowns as something that pose a danger to our life and want us to stay away from it as far as possible.

How Our Survival Instinct Limits Us

Our survival instinct that is used to keep us safe from harm can be back firing and limit our potential growth.

Some examples would be…

Fear of approaching the girl of your dream due to fear of failure.

Avoid starting a business because of the fear of failure.

Fear of learning a new skill because it may prove not to be a worthy investment. (Uncertainty)

As you can see, these are the situations that do not pose any danger to our life. However these situations are pushing us out into the unknowns and there is a possibility that it will fail and “hurt” us in some ways.

How Win Over Your Confused Survival Instinct

Imagine how much growth you would attain if you are able to take action to accomplish anything without your instinct kicking in and telling you to stop? You will go out there and start your own business, approach the girl or guy of your dream or speak to a huge audience without any fear. I bet anyone who is not obstructed by uncertainty is able to move forward so fast and achieve huge success in his or her life.

To achieve this, you will need to have your survival instinct standing on your side instead of against you. You will need to convince your instinct that not doing something (starting your own business or approaching the guy or girl of your dream) can cause you much more harm and pain in the long run. When your survival instinct knows this, instead of stopping you, it will be edging you to go for what you want.

Here are the steps to follow to get your survival instinct on your side.

Grab a piece of paper.

Write out what you want.

Write down why you are not achieving it yet.

Write down what is it that you will lose out or be inflicted with emotional pain if you did not achieve the thing that you decided that you want in your life time.

Visualize the pain of not achieving. Think of the worst that can happen. Think in pictures and add in painful emotions.

Make a decision to go for what you want and start setting goals and creating action plan and strategies to achieve what you want.

When you start to write out and visualize how you will suffer if you do not achieve, your survival instinct now comes to your aid. Because you will be feeling the pain if you do not achieve what you want and your survival instinct guides you away from pain and towards pleasure. This means bringing you towards the direction of your goal.

Parting Words

Our survival instinct can hold us back from achieving what we want but if we are able to get it to stand on our side, we can tap on the unlimited potential of it to help us get anything that we want. This instinct is so strong because it is what that has helped the human species to survive up till now. So is your instinct standing against you or standing on your side?

If it is standing against you, get it to stand beside you now use it to achieve your goals in life.

To your success,

Since I got my first iPhone 2 months ago, I started to integrate its useful applications into my life. I’m amazed by how huge their user applications market is and there are really tons of applications out there in their app store. There are really some great iPhone applications out there that can help us to improve our productivity or just make our life easier for us. There are also some junk apps out there which are expensive and not really useful or user friendly. So read on for my top 11 iPhone applications.

iXpenselt

Price: $4.99
You can get it here: iXpenseIT

iXpenseIt is a budgeting application which can help you track your expenses. I had tried other budgeting applications but I find that none come close to iXpenselt. Other applications are either not user friendly, lacks functionality or simply too complicated to use.

There is a function that you can on it to track your business or personal expenses separately. There are also pre-made expenses categories that you can just tap to select whenever you enter an expense which makes it much more convenient. There is also a function to take a photo of your receipt or things that you had bought.
You are also able to view your monthly expenses summary in bar or pie chart which is kind of neat. There is also an export function that you can use to back up your data into your PC.

2. iMapMyRun

Price: Free
You can get it here: iMapMyRun

After I had decided that I will complete a full marathon this year, I had started training for it. I prefer to run around my estate or in new territories to keep things fresh but I have a problem in tracking the distance I had covered and the time I took to complete my run.

iMapMyRun uses the GPS system of iPhone to track the distance you had covered. With iMapMyRun you will be able to check your speed, timing and distance that you had ran. There is also a function that allows you to record your route which you can refer it other time or tweet about your work out to share with others.

TweetDeck

Price: Free
You can get it here: Tweetdeck

I have nothing but praises for Tweetdeck. I had tried other Twitter apps like Twitterific and etc but I’m still used to Tweetdeck’s interface as I am using it in my PC. Tweetdeck is simple to use and you can create separate columns for different categories (e.g: Separate columns of people who had mentioned your name, colleagues, all friends and etc). If you are using TweetDeck in your PC or Mac, you will be able to sync your original columns into your iPhone just by entering your account details.

4. Evernote

Price:Free (able to upgrade to premium)
You can get it here: Evernote

Evernote is one of the coolest iPhone app and it is one of my favourite. It works like a notepad where you can jot down ideas or anything that you want to remember. Once you had updated your note, it will sync to your online account and you will be able to access it through iPhone or on Evernote website.

There are also options to record voice memos, take pictures and you can also use iPhone’s GPS system to tag a location to it so that you can remember where you took the note. For example if you have the bad habit of forgetting where you park your car, you can snap a picture of the lot that you had parked in and tag the location. So when you want to get back to your car, you can access your note and your GPS system will guide you back to your car. Pretty neat, isn it?

5. eTodo

Price: $0.99
You can get it here: eTodo

eTodo is basically a digital to do list. Nothing fancy over here but this app just helps you to create a simple to do list that you can keep track of. Since the last update, they had added an optional task repeat function. When you turn on this function, the tasks that you set to repeat will reappear in your to do list for every __ days that you had set. This function helps when you are lazy to repeat keying in tasks that you do every frequently (e.g sending your laundry, tidying your room, work out and etc).

6. PDF Word Excel File Viewer

Price: $0.99
You can get it here: PDF Word Excel File Viewer

There are some essential functions that are lacking in iPhone and one of them is the lack of the function to open PDF files, Words and Excel. eBooks are easily accessible as all you need is to download it and you can read it immediately. By the way if you have not downloaded my ebook “Unleash Your Maximum Potential”, you can download it by clicking on the link below.

Get your copy of Unleash Your Maximum Potential now.

PDF Word Excel File Viewer allows you to read the files as had mentioned in its name. It works by using Wi Fi to sync with your home connection and all you need is to upload your files through the link that it gives you. After uploading your files, it will then appear at the home screen of the application.

You are also able to bookmark your page so that you will be able to resume from where you left off after exiting the application. You can also call “play” your ebook and it will start to auto scroll down at a constant pace. This will allow you to read comfortably without the need of scrolling manually.

7. NetNewsWire

8. WhatsApp

You can get it here: WhatsApp

Whatsapp is a smart phone to smart phone messenger. It uses the Push function in iPhone to receive messages and media files like audio and video. It also auto detects your friends in your contact list who are using WhatsApp (I think they can detect whoever is using iPhone) and adds them into the favourite list found in WhatsApp. You can bypass international SMS and call charges by using WhatsApp to contact your friend (provided they have Whatsapp too). The $0.99 is well spent if you are a heavy text user or you spend a lot of time overseas.

I had read Rich Dad Poor Dad a few years ago and the book has a profound effect on me. Rich Dad Poor Dad is a personal finance book and it was written by Robert Kiyosaki. In the book, he talks about how we should manage our cash flow and what should we do to get out of the rat race. One particular idea caught my attention and it was the part where he mentioned that he will never fail to invest in educating and upgrading himself. He is a millionaire and a great property investor, but he still consistently invests the money in his own education to upgrade his knowledge.

This idea of consistent growth and upgrading make sense to me. If you are looking to achieve anything in life, YOU will need to be in action. This means that how well you do will affect what type of results you receive. The better you are in what you are doing the better the results you will receive. In another word, you are your biggest leverage.

Investing In Yourself

Let us have a show of hand; have anyone set the intention to invest in their own education and skills this year? If you had, give yourself a pat on your back. If you have not, now is the time to give this idea some serious thoughts.

Most of us after we had graduated from the school system, we will start to slow down with our learning rate. Think about when is the last time you had picked up a book, attended seminars or classes after you had graduated? If it is rarely, then you will have to get yourself off the couch and start learning again. Don’t ever have the thinking that your learning stops after school. In fact, true learning starts after school.

“It is the studying that you do after your school days that really counts. Otherwise, you know only that which everyone else knows.”
~Henry Doherty

If you take a look at people around you who are doing well and successful, you will find that they are constantly upgrading themselves by going for seminars, classes or reading books related to the field that they are working in. There is a strong correlation between the amount of time you spent upgrading yourselves and the success you have in life.

Ways To Grow Yourself

There are a few ways that you can use to grow yourself. Here are some of them.

1. Visit your local library

The library is a great place to learn. There are a wide range of books and audio books out there that are available for loan. Another great thing about it is that everything is free. You can also kick start your education by downloading my free ebook, “Unleash Your Maximum Potential“. In the book there will be specific steps that teach you on how to awaken your sleeping genius and start achieving again.
2. Audio books

If you spend a lot of time commuting, don’t waste those time away. Imagine wasting 2 hours on commuting to and fro from your work place every day. You will be wasting 730 hours every year doing nothing which is approximately a month time.

Go out there and grab a book from a library, local bookstore or Amazon. Make full use of the time by reading a book. If you are driving or you prefer to listen instead of reading, I highly recommend you to visit Nightingale Conant. The website consists of audio books by established personal development authors such as Anthony Robbins, Brian Tracy and Dr Wayne Dyer. You can download them and listen to the audio books as you commute.

3. Attend seminars

Seminars are always packed with useful information. Make it a point to attend at least a seminar per year. I had attended a few seminars back in 2009 (Anthony Robbins UPW Singapore 2009) and I had picked up lots of useful knowledge. It is also a place where you can find like minded people and start to network with them. Networking through seminars can get you some great contacts and you never know that you may meet someone who will become your future joint venture partner.

Parting Words

Tony Robbins had mentioned, “If you are not growing, you are dying.” There are only 2 ways on a ladder. You either go up or down. Choose to climb up and reach for the success you want by starting to invest in yourself. You are the greatest tool that is bestowed to you in life.

If you choose not to upgrade this tool and let it stay the same as it is, you will only be able to tackle small challenges that only gives you mediocre results. However if you upgrade yourself constantly, only then you will be able to tackle larger challenges that give you excellent rewards.

If you learn to trust your gut, you will go far. Everyone is born with base instinct. It’s what allows man to survive initially. As you go about life, you might be tempted to over think things, which may drive you into the wrong direction. When you learn to follow your intuition, you may well find that you’re heading straight for success.

Think About Your Gut Feelings

In order to understand intuition, it may help to recall a situation where you had a gut feeling. Maybe you’ve met someone at work who seemed nice enough but they turned out to be a troublemaker. Later you told yourself that as soon as you met them, you just felt like something was up.

For me there were plenty of times growing up where I’d be tested in different classes at school. My gut feeling would tell me to answer one way, but then I would over think and then answer a different way. Often times when the tests were returned, I would realize that my gut feeling was right! I should have gone with the initial answer.

There’s an important lesson to be learned here about intuition. It’s that as you get older, you become more likely to over analyze your feelings. Sometimes an in depth analysis is needed, but sometimes it can be standing in the way of you and success. From now on make an effort to trust your first instinct, and see where life leads you.

Taking Action

When you trust your intuition, it’s a good thing. It’s not just because you’re most likely making the correct decision either. It’s also because you’re going with that first feeling and you’re taking action. Finding success is very much about taking action. Think about all the time you spend thinking about the things you’ve done, or what you plan on doing.

Many people spend their lives talking about or only dreaming of their true goals. It’s those individuals that do something about it that actually reach them. So when your instinct tells you to turn in a certain direction, perhaps you should see where the road leads.

Even if you feel like you’ve made a mistake by taking that road, chances are that you’ve learned a good lesson in the process. This failed attempt shouldn’t be treated as failure either. This is because it may be a necessary step for you to take in order to find your way to success. In that sense, your intuition was likely right all along.

How Your Intuition Helps Others

When you go with your gut feeling, you can also be helping others in the process. It’s also a skill that you can work on in order to develop your intuition. When you become good at this skill, you’ll make a more effective leader, which can be another stepping stone on your way to success.

When you approach any social situation in life, think about your initial grasp of that situation. If you can understand how someone is feeling just by the way that they’re looking at you, you can more than likely help them quickly and efficiently.

When you trust your gut in social situations, you’ll become a more likeable and effective communicator. This is because people will know that you understand them and you’ll be able to roll with the punches when plans change and you discover that you need to be a little more flexible.

Remember that your gut feeling will not always be right, but more often than not it will be right. You need to know and trust yourself and you’ll find success.

Differences Of Winners and Losers

Successful people are winners in our society. But what are the factors that make them so different from others? I have pondered about this question for a while and I found that there are some striking differences between winners and losers. Winners operate in a totally different frame of mind compared to losers and that is why they always got the results that losers dream of. So read on for the list of 33 differences between winners and losers.

Parting Words

Winners and losers are largely differentiated by their way of thinking. It means that if your thinking tend to be nearer to the Losers approach, it is possible for you to shift yourself back to the Winners way of thinking. All you need is to be 100% honest with yourself, admit that some part of your life needs to be change and work on it.

So which side are you on?
