Myths of a Millionaire

Think of a millionaire lifestyle now. So what did you think of? Super cars? Fancy restaurants? Or owning an island?

Whenever we think of a millionaire, images of them driving super cars, dining at the finest restaurants or owning the huge property with a castle built on it are generated in our mind. Yet how much truth are there in these pictures? I believe the media and fairy tales have shown us too much false images of the guys in the “Super Rich Club”.

Research has shown otherwise. 80 percent of the millionaires generated their wealth in one generation and on average, millionaires live a decent lifestyle instead of the luxurious lifestyle that we thought of. Most of the millionaires are frugal and they may be driving a normal 1.6L car instead of a Ferrari.

Do You Give Up Easily?

This is a great video about Nick Vujicic that can serve us as an inspiration. After seeing this video, what are the feelings that come to you immediately? Felt amazed? Sympathy? Sad or Inspired? I hope you felt inspired by the video as I believe Nick want to use his story to inspire others rather than having others to pity him.

There are some lessons that we can learn from him, let me elaborate more on it.

Giving Up

Do you give up easily? Do you happen to give up almost immediately when failures and obstacles come knocking on your door? Did that happen before? I bet it does, I was guilty of it too. After seeing how Nick overcome his obstacles in life, we need to remind ourselves that regardless of what obstacles we face, we cannot give up easily and we need to keep on moving forward.

Are You Reading Enough?

According to statistics, 42% of the people who left college never pick up another book again. This is an alarming statistic. Where do we learn from when we are young? We learn from listening to what are around us, learning from the role models and we learn from reading books too.

Why read a book?

We have only a finite amount of time in our life. Much about learning is through trial and error and if we are trying to learn everything by ourselves, it is going to take much more than a life time to learn it. In short, reading is a short cut to success.

What do I mean? Books are written by people who want to share their expertise or experience and there are millions or billions of books out there written by people who have went through the scenarios that we are facing and they have provided the resources to help us. So why not use them?

Those are the people who have already been there and done that. With them teaching you and acting as mentor, you will only accelerate your growth much more faster than walking the path on your own.

Among the 6.7 billions of people in the world, there are people who easily quit and there are people who will keep moving on and walking or running towards their goals.

Why is it some people can be successful in life and while others can only live in mediocrity.

I believe it all boils down to a word. Attitude.

Different attitudes can be found in different people. Most of the people have high expectations but they just can’t bring themselves to achieve it. Successful people are the people who are not satisfied with being mediocre. They have the “wants” and they will have an action plan and attitude to bring themselves towards it. They will climb over every obstacles that appears in their way and let nothing stop them.

Who is Andrew Matthews?

For those who don’t know who is Andrew Matthews, I will do a quick introduction here.

Andrew Matthews is an author, cartoonist and international speaker on attitude, success, happiness and prosperity. He is the best selling author In the field of personal development and motivation classics like “Being Happy” and “Follow Your Heart”.

Personally what I like about Andrew Matthews is his humor and his ability to cut out the clutter and present his ideas to you in the simplest way possible.

What did I learn from his audio program?

Seminars are good ways to learn new information but there is a tendency that even though you did a fire walk or jump off the cliff at the seminar, you are still the same person as yesterday because I believe that you can’t change into a better person in a day. So I decided to buy the audio program as I believe that it will be good to have a mentor always near me, constantly teaching and reminding me, so I can change myself bit by bit.

Andrew Matthews audio program talks about how to achieve happiness, drawing power from your subconscious mind, having good relationships, prosperity, personal power and developing action plan towards your success. There is a total of 144 useful strategies in it and I will share with you some of the ideas I got from his audio program. I am going to talk about two points that was mentioned in his “144 Strategies for Success and Happiness” which is Happiness and Worrying.

Google’s Mail Goggles

So what is it about the Mail Goggles by Google? It is actually a feature in the Gmail that stop you from sending email that you will regret after thinking about it consciously. When you are going to send an email with this feature activated, you need to solve 5 arithmetic questions within the time limit before you can send it. This function inspired me to write about anger management as I found that in life, anger can be dealt with the same way.

So what is anger? Anger is a feeling, an emotional state when you feel annoyed or you can fly into rage. What actually caused it is when you are met with scenarios that you do not like or agree with.
