@Hi Dimitar,

Our reality are govern by our thoughts and when we change our thinking, surprisingly, our reality changes together. :)

@Hi Bonnie,

I got to agree that all our experiences are important and it is up to us to define how useful it is.

@Hi PennySue,

I think our life is much more interesting because we don't know what is waiting for us at the end of the path. What we can do is to go through some trial and error and pick up all the experience that we had along the way and gradually and ultimately find the path that truly want to take.

Cheers

If I could live my life over again,I would do lots of things differently (if I could know what I know now)unfortunately we do not have that opportunity. So we have learned from our mistakes, we grow on this path we have chosen. Our choices in life determines our path, if we only knew what was waiting for us at the end of these chosen paths.

Hi Vincent,

Nice post :) I've had some regrets about education too, I chose to study performing arts when I was 18 because it was something I enjoyed and I thought it would lead to the career I wanted, after a few years though I realised it wasn't the career I wanted. But since transferring myself to a more business oriented career I have noticed many moments when the performing arts background has come in handy, like giving me good communications skills, confidence & self awareness, perhaps if I'd studied business instead I'd have more technical knowledge, but I think I'd lack some of the "soft" skills that have been very helpful in my career so far.

I think the important thing is to keep reviewing and considering what we've learned from our experiences :)

Thanks for the nice article, Vincent! It really made me think about what you said.

About an year ago I realized that changing my life means changing my way of thinking first. Just by being more positive and thankful, my life completely turned around and I started really living it all over again. When I understood the power of my thoughts, I felt reborn.

Change is often internal, not external. For example, many people who want more money don't enjoy themselves when they receive it. And few of them see that the problem is in their greed, and not in how much money they currently have.

@Hi Clinton,

"I don’t want to wake up in 30 years from now and realize I wasted my life doing something I never really had a passion for" This is something that I fear too and I strive to do what I love best instead of living in other people's standard. Great point!

@Hi Keith,

It does work for me and do give it a try. Remember share with us your story if it works for you. I bet the readers are going to love it. :)

Cheers

I feel we get to live our life over again on a daily basis, by simply being fortuate enough to wake up and have the chance of enjoying another day.

You mentioned trial and error - I feel the way to discover what your passion is in life is through eliminating what you don't want. Sometimes it is easier to know what you don't want over what you do want, especially when you are in confusion or becoming dissatisfied.

As you said, at some stage you have to take action and when you do it is worth listening to your inner voice rather than being influenced by what others think you should do.

There are two choices I have used personally that may help here - accept or change. Either you find a way to look at what you are doing from a different angle and start to enjoy it or you change what you are doing in order to discover what it is you would enjoy more.

Often fear of change is the only thing holding you back and sometimes fear is little more than a thought.

In my experience, asking questions is exactly the right thing to do - I have a phrase "Question everything and keep on questioning everything until there are no questions"

It has worked for me.

Hello Vincent. I really like this "What If?" thing. In fact I am going to start using it as a way to help myself stay on track with my personal goals and/or dreams. I think it can really work!
Thanks!

Hi Vincent,

In that first list you should also add > Lack of money, not that it's like that with everyone but most people who don't like their job seem to have a higher chance of poverty than anyone.

And I agree with what said about peer pressure and going with the crowd. People are more often out to impress instead of follow a career that suits them and that they will succeed in. One of the biggest problems is being one of the few who can slip through all the negativity and take on a career you want. In almost every school there's people who want to go to university or take more schooling after high school. I think this is great! However, lots of people who go to collage abandon their career because they don't like it any more. All the teachers that pumped them up about becoming a plummer didn't know anything about being a plummer in the first place.

I don't want to wake up in 30 years from now and realize I wasted my life doing something I never really had a passion for. Therefor inaction will always be my worst regret. That's why I don't like to think of myself as cautious. Even though I am to a point. But one thing I find is that overcautious people have regrets and are only competent when it comes to the career they never really liked.

I'm 18 and so many times people will ask. "Are you going to college for that?" My answer is usually a "maybe" because truthfully I don't want to go to college!

I want to congrats you on the great post once again!
