Your Irrationality Is Causing Your Suffering

Have you ever tried to boast to your fellow colleagues and friends on the hours you work, the amount of nights you burn to complete your work or the amount you spent on your branded goods.

It is interesting to observe that if it’s possible to work shorter hours, you will be happier. If you are able to avoid burning the mid night oil, you would choose not to burn the mid night oil. If you are able to spend lesser on your purchase, you will be a happier person and your retirement fund will thank you for that.

Then why is it so that you would want to boast about the longer hours you spent on your work, the nights that you burn or the extra money that you spent?

The end result of working lesser hours means that you are able to spend more time doing the things that you love. The nights that you avoid staying back in the office means equals to more time spent with your family. The money that you saved means you have a chance to leave the job that you hate and go work on the things that you love.

Wouldn’t it be better to be happy that you got to spend more time with your family? Or more time working on your passion instead in a job that you hate? How about more money in your bank account so that you have a peace of mind instead of living pay check to pay check?

Take a step back and observe the irrationality in our life. If there is irrationality that are causing your unhappiness, it is time to think differently Put your ego aside and try to search for the answer that you truly want.
