100% responsibility or choosing the easy way out

Take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing: you have no one to blame.” -Erica Jong

It is a scary thing when we don’t have anyone or anything to blame. We won’t have any covers to hide behind and our own success and failure ends up in our own hand.

Isn’t this a great way to live your life?

If you are hiding behind excuses or scapegoats, this may not be the life for you. Because you want someone to be there to be blamed for your lack of capability.

The truth is, most of us don’t have any lack of capability (Think your case is bad, look at this first before deciding). You may lack it now, but capability is something that can be acquired.

Capability is not innate. It is something call hard work. Talent does help. It helps when you are running a short sprint. But in the long run, talent can only get you so far. What you need is hard work and commitment.

Put in your 10,000 hours of hard work and keep working on increasing your capability in whatever you want to do.

If you choose to hide behind covers, all you are doing is finding the easy way out.

The funny thing is everybody wants the good stuff. But yet most of us want the easy way out.

Think about this. Do you want to take 100% responsibility for your life, or are you just choosing the easy way out?

It isn’t easy. But it is worth trying to strive for it. If we are able to take 100% responsibility in 7/10 situations, it does make a very big difference.
