Some of my readers requested me to write a goal setting guide. I believe goal setting is important and it does deserve to have a well detailed post. This is the most comprehensive guide that I had written about goal setting. However, the article is also too huge for me to post in a single post. After getting some feedbacks/polling from my readers on HMS Facebook Page, it is decided that I post this goal setting post in series.

I divided it into a few series and I will post it every following day. So in the meanwhile, read on, start setting goals for yourself, and be the best that you can be.

Step By Step Guide To Goal Setting

Having a goal is the core of personal development. We need a goal in everything we do. Having a goal give us something to look forward to and it helps to provide us with a direction.

Without a clear direction of where we want to go, we will stay idle and not move anywhere.

Having a goal is in our everyday life. You even have goals when you want to shop for groceries. Your goal is to go to the supermarket, shop for all the items in your shopping list, and get all your groceries home.

You also have goals when you drive. Your goal is your destination. You don’t leave it to chance and allow yourself to drive all across town and end up somewhere where you don’t want to be.

We are setting goals subconsciously in our everyday life. But right now, you will learn how to set goals consciously and how to set yourself up for success.

Benefits Of Setting Goals

There are several benefits of setting goals and they are:

  1.  Provide you with a clear outcome of what you want.
  2.  Focus – You will be focused because having a goal means that you have a target.
  3.  Accountability – With a goal, you can create accountability when others know about your goals.
  4.  Tracking – When you have a goal, it is easier to keep track of your progress in life. It helps to document all your goals down so that you can see how you have grown and progressed in life.
  5.  Be the best you can be – Setting goals means that you are serious about your personal growth and you want to be the best that you can be.

If you are convinced that you need to set goals and you want to, congrats! I will walk you through the whole process and introduce you to the framework of setting goals.

Setting Yourself Up For Success In 5 Steps – GSPET

Goals – Specific goals that you truly want
Strategy – Steps that will get you there
Planning – Allocation of time
Execution – Taking massive action
Tracking and Review – Getting feedback to help make decisions

Or in short GSPET

I will walk you through the 5 Steps of GSPET in order to ensure that you set yourself up for success in achieving your goals.

Throughout the whole framework, I will use various examples such as losing weight or earning a higher income. Nevertheless, it can be applied in all scenarios that I can think of. I’m just using a few examples to help you to understand the steps involved in setting goals.

In the next article, I will cover Part 2 Of The Ultimate Goal Setting Guide: Setting Your Goals, which is the first step of the process GSPET.

Even taking goals, one must take it one at a time. The trouble to some people are the ways they deal with such plans. There comes the anticipation of getting it done the most easy and convenient way but the fact is, it takes a lot of understanding and it comes with patience then goes perseverance coming from the term “determination package”.
One must have the drive and the drive comes from the word “inspired”. All in all, just love the goal you set it in and you can come with positive results.
Additional, do not also overdo or even think of perfect result yet you must be open to learning in the first place there then one could take the feeling of contentment/satisfaction.

Thanks for dropping by. Goals that we love are much more likely to be achieved with us. It is so hard to do something that we have no passion for.
