Latest Updates: What Have I Been Doing?4 Comments June 5, 2011 / Posted in Personal Development
I have not been updating much on HMS recently as I was busy with my exams. I completed my last paper on 25th May and now it is time to get back into action and strive to achieve my other goals. Let me share with you the events that happened recently.
Last year 2010, I set a goal to complete a marathon and I competed in 4 races namely a 16km (10 miles) race, 2 half marathon and a full marathon. I enjoyed all the races and it was my first time that I participated in such public events.
This year I took part in the Sundown 2011 marathon again on 28th May. Sundown is a race event that takes place in the night and their slogan includes “Beat The Sunrise” and “Sleep Can Wait”. I think these slogans are pretty cool. 🙂
I took part in the event last year but I did a half marathon at that time. I wanted to complete a full marathon in this event and I just took part again this year. I didn’t train much for it this time round due to my exams but I still enjoyed the race and reached the finishing line.
Let me share a quote with you from Confuscius.
It does not matter how fast or how slow you go, as long as you do not stop.
You can apply this principle to anything in your life. Most people are fearful of taking the step to change for the better. They may also fear that their progress may be faster or slower than others. However, there is no need for you to compare yourself to others.
Each of us is unique. We have our own pace of progress. Your personal development journey is like a marathon. You don’t have to care how fast or how slow you go, as long as you keep moving forward and ultimately reach the finishing line.
Created A New Niche Site
During my exam period, I do not have time to work on my blog and other niche sites. However, my “newly created” (about 2 to 3 months of age?) niche site (my 3rd niche site) started to make me some money. It is a new source of passive income and I have to say that I totally enjoyed the little stream of income that is coming in without me having to put in more hours of work.
This is possible because of the hard work I put in earlier on the site and I am reaping the rewards now. Got to thank Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income for the great tips that he shared on making niche sites. I learned a great deal over there.
I also took part in the Million Dollar Challenge held by Celestine Chua (the challenge is over). I used the opportunity to create public accountability to spur me to take consistent action and build up my website.
There are many awesome people in the challenge that tries to boost their financial income through various ways such as optimizing their businesses, creating their own businesses, trading and I even saw someone who makes money by selling painting. The sky is the limit and I think the only thing that is stopping us from achieving what we think we deserve is our own mindset.
What Am I Going To Do Now?
My aim now is to continue to work on my niche sites and optimize them for profit generation. Another thing I would like to work on is to create an ebook on productivity and action taking. I believe that taking action is the only thing that can help propel you forward towards your goals and dreams. However, most people cannot see significant results because they are not taking enough action or productive enough.
I want to share all my knowledge on how to take more action that is significant and how to be productive to create the impact you want to see. If you want to be notified first and receive cool bonuses when it comes out, you can subscribe into the list below.
That will be all for today and I will talk to you soon.
