Week 9 and 10 Fitness Update

6 Comments Posted in Personal Development

If you have not read my previous weeks update, you can read it here.

In this video, it shows you how Rain prepares for the movie, Ninja Assassin. It is crazy to hear that he trains for 6 hours a day; 5 hours in martial arts and 1 hour in total body fitness. It requires total dedication to train that much in a day. I was inspired by his commitment and physical achievement so I decided to share this video here.

For things at my end, I am somewhat stagnant in my challenge. I’m still eating clean for all my meals except dinner. I intend to have only 1 cheat meal per day but I ended up eating around 3 to 4 cheat meals per week. I tend to cheat on my dinner as there is more social pressure that increases my tendency to cheat.

It is easy to eat clean foods for my 4 small meals during the day as I prepared my food beforehand and bring them along to work. However, my dinner is usually a disaster. Eating out with my friends will definitely turn out to be a cheat meal for that day.

The number of days I workout also drop to a measly 3 times per week. Exercising 3 times a week is running in maintenance mode and if I want to lose the belly fat, this is definitely not going to do it. These are the reasons why my weight is getting stagnant on the weighing scale. I found it hard to pick myself up from where I left off after my vacation in Taiwan. My fitness challenge nosedived during that period.

After I watched this video, I found some renewed motivation and inspiration to start again. I may not get my desired results at the end of the 16 weeks, but I believe I still picked up some valuable lessons along the way.

I’m not going to hide out the mistakes that I made and only show you the glamorous part of the story. This is why I am sharing with you the challenges that I faced and the mistakes that I made. It is all worth it if you learned something over here and avoided making the same mistakes that I made.

Half Marathon

I’m running a half marathon this Sunday. I’m kind of excited for this event as my last 2 competitive runs have been fun. I’m looking forward to it and I will take some photos and do an update again.
Cheers,
Vincent

  1. I have watched the movie Ninja Assassin during my last trip to Bintan and I am amazed at Rain’s body build. Didn’t really know he trained so hard to make it a great movie. Anyway, keep up your motivation and stay focus.

Sculpturing a body is indeed hard and requires dedication and discipline. I am to bodybuilding myself; everyday I have to struggle to push myself out of my comfort zone and resist the urge to get lazy. But the reward is great and I feel good about myself.

In any goals that we want to achieve, it is important to focus despite the many distractions coming our way. 🙂
