Hehe, time vampires is a good way to put it. It’s a fine line to walk. On one hand, we want to be polite and let the other person speak and leave on his own accord. But when you have work to be done, it’s hard to tell them that they’re interrupting your work so it’s better to make up some excuse like there’s someone at the door, or a phone call, etc. Over the years, I’ve tried to walk this tightrope between being too kind and too rude a lot and it’s always a bit dicey.

Hi Walter,

I got to agree with you it is a great way to get away from Time Vampires. If they can’t find you, they simply can’t disturb you. Another great way to do it is to switch off our cell phone as they can be a big distraction.

Definition of Time Vampire – Someone who takes huge amount of time from you bring your focus to tasks that don’t matter.

Some examples would be…

- Colleagues that like to have a few hours of small talk everyday.
- Friends that like to have outings frequently and what you do during that outing would be gossip.

I’ve just added a new phrase to my vocabulary. Having been particularly badly affected by time vampires in times gone past, I am thrilled to be free of their clutches at last, and am safely ensconced in my own private place and space where they can not demand my time any more. Yay! Die time vampires, die! LOL!!!!

One of my most effective strategy to protect myself from time vampire is by disappearing, just as you have stated here. When I want full hold of my time, I have a place where I can go where there’s no disturbance whatsoever and there I can maximize time.

Cutting off ties will be hard for some scenarios but it is definitely an effective way.

Hi Hulbert,

Talking about dramas can definitely kill our productivity. On top of wasting time, we will also produce negative emotions. Facebook and Twitter can take up tons of our time and it will be wise to control our usage instead of letting them control us.

Yeah,just a question. Apart from time for your company,for your own business,for your school study,for your kids.for your family,for your friends. How can you deal with time ?
I always feel confused by the ROLE or DEFINATION of Time Vampires. We are just so much typical humans..
