Do you know what is your biggest nightmare? What is it that you are really terrified that will happen to you? Are you terrified of being broke for the rest of your life? Or are you fearful of being a nobody for the entire life? Do you know exactly what is it?

You may be puzzled about why did I ask you this question. But I believe this may be the question that can help us to get out there and start living and achieving.

Why You Need To Know About Your Biggest Nightmare?

I once read something by Anthony Robbins which states if you want to achieve success, you will need something to push you away from pain and pull you towards pleasure. When you are constantly moving away from your pain and moving towards pleasure, you are moving forward everyday to achieve success.

Your biggest nightmare in life act as the pain that will push you forward. Most of us avoid the feeling of pain as no one wants to feel painful and suffer from it. However when you find that you are not living the life that you wish to be living, it is time to do something about it. Bring out your biggest nightmare to help push you into action.

My Biggest Nightmare

Here are some of my biggest nightmares in life…

1. Being a nobody for the rest of my life.

2. Doing something that I hate for the rest of my life.

3. Work for 50 years only to find myself died broke.

4. A life of mediocrity.

These are the nightmares of my life. If I find myself slacking off, I refer these nightmares and guess what? I jumped into action and start to push forward to achieve my dreams(pleasure) immediately!

Your nightmares can be a great source of motivation.

The worst thing that can happen in our life is to look back and to find that we are capable of achieving better.

How our life turn out totally lies in our hands. If you are not happy with your life right now, go and do something about it. Know your biggest nightmare and use it to push you towards your dreams.

Cheers,
Vincent

  1. I agree that sometimes the bad things in your life, really keeps you going in life.

However my biggest nightmare is being alone. This is something that haunts me.

  2. Greatest nightmare is having one of the people I hate being more successful than me. I don’t hate many people, so if I hate you and you were more successful, it would kill me. Or drive me to do better!

  3. Geeze man. We must think alike:) At the beginning of the post I was like, “I don’t think I have any of those”, then the list came up and I was like, Of course!:)

    Hi Jen,

Our nightmare does help us to give us a kick in the butt and I find it an effective method for helping us to move forward. 🙂

    Hi Oscar,

Everyone have different fears and I believe along the way when you are pursuing growth, you will find out what is your biggest nightmare in your life.

    Hi Diggy,

I have the same thought about this also. I had read The Secret and thinking about our nightmares may cause us to attract it to us. But as what The Secret says, things won’t be manifested immediately. Which is to say the instant thought of our nightmare to help us kick start our “engine” will not be manifested. To summarize, moderation is the key here. 🙂

    Cheers,
    Vincent

  7. Hi Vincent!

This is totally true, that is why it is good to use your nightmares as an inspiration to achieve your desires. However, I don’t think you should be totally scared of your nightmares, because then subconsciously you may attract them into your life?

I’d say do as much as you can to get away from them, but if you have to face them and have no choice, you will, and you will kick your nightmares butt 🙂

    Have a great day sir!

  8. I’m not really sure what my biggest avatar is. Even financially, I don’t care if I go broke tomorrow, but maybe it is because I’m in my early twenty and I have less responsibilities.

Great post, I’ve also read that by Anthony Robbins, very powerful stuff to realise how you work with regards to this…pain is my motivator, a good kick up the bum for me! but also makes me realise the ‘bad’ things that happen in life can move you towards your goals.
