We are the average of the 5 friends that we spend the most of our time with. That is why we need to be able to choose friends that have positive influence over our life. In this podcast we discuss about why is it important to choose our friends wisely. Hope you enjoy it and I will talk to you over at the comment section.
Cheers,

This is such an important topic and one that a lot of people don’t think very much about. A lot of the time we sort of fall into friendships out of convenience but it’s SO important to be careful when we choose friends because those people can have a really big impact on our lives.
Vincent,
This is such a great point. I’ve had to eliminate friends from my life who were toxic at times. I also know there has been a ton of research about the fact that we become a byproduct of the people we are around.
Hey Vincent, I’m a strong advocator of choosing the people we are around wisely, because it determines the kind of person we are molded into too. This is a very important topic you are covering here, and I’m glad you did.
Coincidentally, I have written an article on this topic too, in case HMS readers are interested: http://celestinechua.com/blog/2009/01/you-are-the-average-of-the-5-people-you-spend-the-most-time-with/ .
Congratulations on another great podcast, Vince!
I completely share your point of view towards friendship and too think that sometimes we simply must end a relationship for our own benefits.
Love the podcasts! I’m thinking of doing them soon!
You should have a picture of YOU and your friends!
It would mean more
@Positively Present
I agree that most of us tend to overlook on this as it may be due to the scarcity mentality. Human love to be in groups and whenever a group accepted us, we tend to stick to it regardless of what the group is. However the truth is we can always find another group of friends if we want and the possibilities are huge (a world with 6 billion population
).
@Srinivas Rao
I had read those research too and that is why I believe we definitely need to remove friends who are toxic to us from our life. Great job on removing them from your life as I know it is definitely not an easy thing to do.
@Celes
Thanks for sharing the article. It is a great read.
@Dimitar Nikolov
Thanks for your comment! It is really easier to achieve success if we are around people who are successful. So choosing our friends is something that is really important.
@Bud Hennekes
You should try them out soon too. It is fun to record and I will be doing more of them in the future. Thanks for the idea for putting up a pic of me and my friends. It is a great idea and it would definitely mean a lot more.
Cheers,
Vincent
In my opinion friendship is wise thing it require lot of guts to maintain. all wants honest and mental comfort friends in our life but not to fulfill self desire. Congo for Podcast one of heart touching topic on friendship hope people will understand.
Vincent, I definitely agree that you need to seek your friends Wisely, It was likely Rocky Balboa said, “You hang out with nice people, you get nice friends You hang out with smart people, you get smart friends You hang out with yo-yo people, you get yo-yo friends It’s simple mathematics.”
Till then,
Jean
PS: Great job on the podcast!
